The Ivy League Model United Nations Conference 2018 | March 8-11th

Dear Delegates

It is my honor and absolute pleasure to invite you to the seventh annual Ivy League Model United Nations Conference in China, to be held March 8-11. Just as before, this year’s conference will be showcase some of the best delegates from around the world, as well as display the best of the best among Chinese delegates. The ILMUNC China Secretariat, along with our local partner, WELAND, will do everything in our power to offer interesting and stimulating committees that will be sure to make your time in Shanghai great.

We have been working tirelessly to deliver the best possible conference experience. We have walked away from the last session of ILMUNC China with lessons and feedback that we have used to make this year’s conference the best one yet. Our conference will feature a variety of committees, from larger General Assemblies, to smaller ECOSOC and Specialized committees, to ILMUNC’s signature crisis committees. In past years, we have prioritized creating a conference experience fit for both newcomers and seasoned veterans and this year is no different. We will be offering both novice and advanced trainings before and during the conference so that no matter our skill level, ILMUNC China will help you grow as a delegate.

This year, the ILMUNC China team consists of highly experienced chairs, all of whom have staffed Penn’s high school and college conferences in Philadelphia. They come from a wide range of academic backgrounds, but have come together through a passion for international affairs to put on this conference. These chairs will bring a strong sense of professionalism and expertise to the committee room, but they are also a lot of fun and approachable. They would love to answer all your questions about MUN, international affairs, or just life in general.

We also have great out-of-committee events planned for you. Throughout the conference, delegates will have many opportunities to interact with each other and the conference team outside of the committee room. We cannot wait to see you all at our unique workshops led by our chairs and Secretariat and at the Delegate Dance. Our location in Shanghai also allows delegates the opportunity to explore one of China’s most iconic cities with a blend of traditional culture and modern globalism.

As always, delegate experience is very important to us and will always be a top priority. We will do everything we can to provide a unique, and unparalleled conference experience for you all. On behalf of the entire ILMUNC China team, I welcome you to register for ILMUNC China VII. We look forward to seeing you in Shanghai!
